The language holiday combined with sport
Here, language students can learn a completely new sport or receive professional training at a high level. These sports programmes are often held at boarding schools, which can offer excellent sports facilities throughout. However, there are also some language courses with accommodation in host families combined with a sports programme. Some courses offer several sports as a package, for example team sports or various outdoor sports such as kayaking, mountain biking, windsurfing and climbing.
Horse riding in England and Ireland
Horse riding plays a special role in England and Ireland, because horse breeding has a very long tradition in the British Isles. Many schools therefore offer riding lessons as well as the English course. These courses are suitable for young people who want to improve both their English and their riding skills in pleasant surroundings.
From beginners’ courses to professional training, for example with show jumping if you wish – there are no limits to what you can choose. The programmes also offer longer rides, for example in the Scottish Lowlands or on the beach and in the hills of Donegal in Ireland. English courses with a riding programme are offered with accommodation both in a host family and at a boarding school. These programmes are available for children and young people aged 8-17. English lessons usually take place in the morning, and riding and other leisure activities are on the programme in the afternoon.
Combine English with football training
Many of the bigger English football clubs offer summer camps with English and football training in cooperation with various language schools. The coaches are certified football coaches and often come from the youth academy of the club in question, such as Chelsea, Arsenal, or Manchester United and City. The excursions typically include a visit to a “Premier League” stadium. For example, boys and girls on the Arsenal academy programmes also go on a trip to the famous Emirates Stadium. At one of the summer schools you can even train directly at the grounds of a top-flight club.
Combine English with football training
Learn golf in the home of the sport
That is rightly a dream, because nowhere else are conditions better than in the British Isles. We offer various English programmes that combine high-quality English lessons with first-class golf training – both at a summer camp for a few weeks and during a longer school stay at a boarding school. As well as beginners’ courses, there are also golf programmes for young people who are looking for a sporting challenge in addition to English lessons and want to actively improve their handicap. Alongside training on the driving range and the course, there is also computer-assisted swing analysis. A team of experienced teachers and golf professionals looks after the young people. There is often a school course of its own, and from a certain handicap other courses in the area are visited as well.
English courses for dance enthusiasts
On request, we can also recommend English courses combined with a dance programme. Here the students are looked after and taught by qualified language teachers and professional dance teachers. The language students get to know various styles and genres of dance, which they perform at the end of each week. These courses are offered with accommodation at a boarding school and include two day trips per week and an activity programme that varies every evening.
Play tennis and learn English
Tennis has long been one of the most popular sports in Germany. With us, children and young people from the age of 8 can combine an English language course with tennis. They learn English and spend the afternoons after lessons on the court. Professional tennis coaches support them in improving and refining their skills. From the smash and the passing shot to the drop shot, the young people learn all the strategic shots and the techniques to use.
