TOEFL test preparation in England

Language certificate for studying in the USA

TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language)

Although you can do your TOEFL test preparation in England, the TOEFL exam is actually the American counterpart to IELTS. It is required of non-native speakers by universities in the USA; in Great Britain, the TOEFL is used less often.

At the international universities in Germany with degree programmes taught in English, IELTS and TOEFL are usually both accepted as alternatives.

Today’s TOEFL is internet-based and taken on a computer. Like most other tests, it is divided into four parts and takes approx. four hours. As some elements are flexible in time, it can also take a little longer. Reading is tested using 3-5 texts on which up to 70 questions may be asked; this part takes approx. one to one and a half hours. The listening part also takes up to one and a half hours; here a number of conversations and lectures are used, on which up to 50 questions are then asked. Speaking is tested within 20 minutes with six tasks and questions. Finally, writing is tested in 50 minutes using two tasks and two questions.

There are about 50 test dates spread throughout the year. With us, you will find the right language course to prepare for the TOEFL test.

Results can be viewed about 10 days after the test. The exams can be taken as often as you like and remain valid for applications for two years.
